World Mission

Sandy Beach Baptist Church has been privileged to have supported many overseas mission programs, but none to the extent of the community development and anti-human trafficking work in Nepal over the past decade.

SBBC has partnered with International Mission Ministries to provide support to Nepalis in remote locations. The bond formed with Nepali churches gives access to communities which struggle for many resources Australians take for granted.

Through local churches, community needs such as clean water, rice, oil and food have been provided to struggling regional communities.

Every Daughter Matters

SBBC is also a regular contributor to Every Daughter Matters – a Public Benevolent Institution (i.e. issues tax-deductible receipts) in the effort to prevent human trafficking. EDM employs staff to monitor strategic crossings on the Nepal-India border where human trafficking (mostly of girls) is at crisis levels.

Nepal is a country of 30 million people and 1.5 million of them are at risk of human trafficking every year. At current levels, 20,000 Nepalis are lost across the border every 12 months. That’s more than 50 a day.

Through regular fundraising events, such as dinners, garage sales and art auctions, SBBC helps to resource EDM’s Nepali partners in the fight against human trafficking.

Scripture In Schools

SBBC financially supports Scripture in local schools through Coffs Coast Schools Ministry which is administered by SU Australia.

Yes! We still have Scripture classes in school here and SBBC contributes to the work being done in Woolgoolga High School which has approximately 830 students.

Srijana School

SBBC is funding a weekly feeding program in a primary school in central western Nepal. Many of the children who attend are under nourished and some are at great risk as a result.

Through the generous donations of our regular attendees, we make sure IMM, who is delivering the feeding program, has the funds to complete the task.

Students at Srijana school in central western Nepal are well fed now.

Sherwood Cliffs

Sherwood Cliffs Christian residential rehabilitation centre has been operating since the mid 1970’s. It offers a Christian based program which helps people rebuild their lives in their own time.

SBBC makes an annual financial contribution to Sherwood from the Missions budget. We have welcomed the Sherwood team to our Sunday service regularly over many years and have often enjoyed Sherwood’s hospitality at the Saturday night bbq.
